Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Illinois. The role requires active IL RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and at least 1 year of ICU experience.

You will work a 12-hour night schedule (7pm–7:30am) in a high acuity unit, with no on-site nurse aides and 24/7 support for ventilator care. The unit features 8 beds with 1:2-3 patient ratios, EPIC EMR usage, and a mix of ventilated/post-surgical cases.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required (state licensure)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care experience required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Skilled in vasopressor, sedation, and pain control drip titration
• Experience with ventilated and tracheostomy patients required
• Experience with CVC, PICC, midline, and PEG tube care required
• Must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Responsibilities

• Work in a High Acuity/ICU unit within an acute care hospital setting
• 8-bed critical care unit with 1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Care for sedated, ventilated patients including tracheostomy and PEG tube management
• Manage CVC, PICC, and midline lines with associated care
• Titrate ICU drips such as Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, Cardizem
• Utilizes EPIC EMR
• 12-hour night shifts from 7pm to 7:30am
• Every other weekend required, plus additional shifts to fill gaps
• Holiday rotation required, plus additional shifts to fill gaps
• No current call or standby requirement, though subject to change
• May float to Medical-Surgical unit
• RT staff available in-house 24/7 to support ventilator equipment
• House Supervisor available 24/7
• Telemetry monitored by dedicated telemetry tech
• Hospitalist/Intensivist on-site during dayshift with tele-health MD after hours
• Provide primary bedside care with no nurse aides on this unit
• Complete orientation per facility policy plus 2 shifts with a preceptor
• Scrubs required, facility-approved t-shirts only
• Local candidates accepted within 50 miles at reduced rate
• First-time travelers may be considered
