Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator II to support patient care by processing physician orders, maintaining records, scheduling, and delivering customer service. This role includes cardiac telemetry monitoring in ICU/CVU with an emphasis on organization and clear communication.

The successful candidate will ensure confidential handling of information, accurate order entry, and precise charge capture in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma with basic computer training.
• Completion of HUC telemetry monitoring class through MNM and annual competency testing is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to ensure clerical information is accurate and confidential.
• Enter orders into the Hospital Information System in a timely and legible manner.
• Organize medical records from admission through transfer or discharge per policy.
• Maintain professional, courteous communication via phone, email, fax, or in person.
• Understand medicolegal responsibilities related to patient records to protect staff and patients.
• Accurately capture charges to support correct patient billing.
• Expand job-related knowledge and adapt to change; perform other duties as assigned.
• Monitor telemetry in ICU or CVU and report adverse rhythms to nursing.
