Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Weekend RN at CHI Health Immanuel in Omaha to deliver compassionate nursing care, assess needs, and support patient recovery. You will plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care with an interdisciplinary team, guided by clinical judgment and a patient-first mindset.

The role emphasizes adherence to standards of care, effective documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare consumer and multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an RN nursing program; eligible for Nebraska RN license.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification; ACLS within 5 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, evaluate; ongoing documentation in the patient’s record.
  • Assess and address psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors for each patient.
  • Plan measurable goals in collaboration with the patient and multidisciplinary team; provide care coordination and discharge planning.
  • Implement and adjust the plan of care based on assessment data and clinical standards; ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Evaluate progress toward patient goals with the team and involve the patient in revisions to the plan.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Weekend RN, you will deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care that reflects clinical excellence and supports patients' well-being and recovery, in line with CHI Health's mission and values.


Every day you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for a designated group of healthcare consumers, addressing the spiritual, physiological, social, and psychological aspects of care while collaborating within an interdisciplinary team focused on optimal outcomes.


To be successful in this role you will bring strong clinical judgment, keen assessment skills, and a patient-first mindset, along with the urgency and dedication needed to thrive in a fast-paced environment.



  • Follow the nursing process which includes: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate. The nursing process is an ongoing process that can end at any stage.

  • Assessment - Demonstrates a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze the following healthcare consumer data including: psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic and lifestyle factors

  • Plan – Sets measurable and achievable short and long term goals according to standards of care based on the assessment by the nurse in collaboration with the healthcare consumer and multidisciplinary team.

  • Implement – Implements and/or modifies the plan of care using assessment data, clinical reasoning based upon standards of care and evidence based practice. This includes care coordination, education and discharge planning. The nurse is accountable for the care directly, indirectly or through delegation. Professional and legal standards for delegation must be followed.

  • Evaluate – Uses a systematic ongoing process to evaluate progress towards identified healthcare consumer goals. Revision of plan of care when needed involving the healthcare consumer and the multidisciplinary team.

  • Documents all phases of the nursing process in the healthcare consumer’s record.

  • Registered Nurse: NE, upon hire and

  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 5 - months

Pay Range


$36.00 - $52.20 /hour
