Job summary

Union General Health System is seeking an ICU RN for the 7p–7a shift in Blairsville, GA. The Staff RN will plan, deliver, and manage direct patient care in alignment with hospital policies and nursing standards.

Qualified candidates hold an RN license with a nursing degree (Associate’s or Bachelor’s) and BLS; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on department. Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking are essential for success.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and maintains a current RN license.
• BLS certification is required, and depending on the department, ACLS or PALS may be necessary.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• The Staff RN provides safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care based on each patient’s unique needs.
• The RN administers medications and treatments as prescribed, monitors responses, and reports any changes in condition.
• They are responsible for accurately documenting all aspects of patient care using electronic medical records (EMR) and work closely with interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
• Education for patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions is a key part of the RN's role.
• In emergencies, the RN responds quickly and appropriately, initiating life-saving interventions when needed.
