Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks an ICU Registered Nurse for a part-time, daytime schedule. You will provide safe, competent care for ICU patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy and will serve as a professional leader and supporter of the healthcare team, with the Patient Centered Care concept as a foundation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current ACLS & BLS certificates.
• Prefer one year of full-time or three years of part-time experience in an acute care setting.
• Handle with Care certification (or to be obtained within six months of employment).

Responsibilities

• Involve the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population-specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
• Construct and implement the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill, integrating direct and indirect patient care activities related to the diagnosis and comorbidities.
• Coordinate the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients; develop goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.
• Consistently complete hourly rounds with purpose to strengthen nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs such as pain management, repositioning, and toileting; evaluate the environment to ensure a patient-friendly and safe setting.
