Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• BLS certification required; RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN provides services.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Promotes a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes and acts as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution for team collaboration and delegation.
• Pursues professional development, completes required education, and maintains certifications.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and supports unbiased patient care.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed personnel.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities within the service area as needed.
• Provides age-appropriate care and understands growth and development principles.
