Job summary

AdventHealth in DeLand, Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care on a full-time, day-shift basis. You will assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, monitor responses, and educate families about conditions and treatments.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, document in the EMR, and comply with regulatory standards to ensure optimal patient outcomes. A Florida RN license and BLS are required.

Job Description
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self‑care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high‑quality care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to life‑threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.
Night Shift Benefits

  • Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record [Preferred]
  • Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]
