The General (Main) PACU is a 28-bay unit providing 24/7 specialized peri-anesthesia care to patients across the lifespan and spectrum of acuity, 365 days a year. Vigilant pre and post-operative care is provided to inpatients and outpatients undergoing scheduled or emergency surgery by more than 20 surgical and procedural services. This team’s versatility serves patients treated by a broad array of surgical and medical specialties, providing a variety of clinical experiences for the life-long learner. Nurses must be competent in titration of vasopressors, airway management, care of ventilated patients, blood product administration and fluid resuscitation. Energetic individuals who enjoy applying critical care concepts to dynamic patient care experiences are ideal candidates for this position.
