Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking an experienced RN for the Critical Care unit in La Grange, IL. The role involves direct patient care, medication administration, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The position requires an Associate’s Nursing degree, RN license, and BLS certification, with preferred CCU experience. Eligible clinicians can participate in a Clinical Ladder and salary increases based on performance and advancement criteria.

Qualifications

• RN license required
• Associate's degree in nursing required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Critical care experience preferred
• Ability to use EKG knowledge in patient assessment
• Experience with EMR systems (Cerner/EPIC) preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and self-care.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals for coordinated care.
• Document care activities timely in the EMR.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.
• Mentor nursing staff and participate in unit quality initiatives.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and infection control.
• Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using protocols.
