Job summary

Birch Agency is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our hospital team in Philadelphia, PA. The ICU RN provides specialized critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions in a fast-paced, multi-acuity setting. Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

Contract position with weekly pay. Benefits include 401(k) with employer matching, health, dental and vision insurance, short-term disability and PTO.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license.
• BSN required.
• ACLS certification required.
• All required background clearances must be completed and maintained.
• CVICU experience highly preferred.
• Candidates with Cardiac PCU or MICU experience will also be considered.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-acuity hospital environment.
• Strong communication, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients with complex and critical medical conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to patients and their families.
• Float throughout the unit as needed to support staffing and patient-care requirements.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital policies and procedures.
