Job summary

Alameda Health System's Highland General Hospital is seeking a Pulmonary and Critical Care Specialist to provide inpatient critical care in the ICU and ED, coordinating care across services and ensuring high-quality, cost-conscious treatment.

The role reports to the Directors of Pulmonary Services and Critical Care, requires MD or DO, completed Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship, CA license, and board certification or eligibility; position is part-time (FTE 0.4) with a competitive hourly pay

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• ACGME/AOA internal medicine residency completed.
• Pulmonary and critical care fellowship completed or in process.
• Board certified or eligible in pulmonary and critical care.
• California medical license required.
• DEA registration required.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care support for admitted patients with ICU management and triage.
• Coordinate patient care with specialists and emergency department.
• Oversee and supervise invasive procedures as needed.
• Complete medical records per hospital policies and by-laws.
• Engage in education and departmental meetings and programs.
• Communicate clinical status effectively to physicians, patients and families.

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
