Job summary

The Naval Medical Center San Diego is seeking a Practical Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit under a Direct Hire solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive MAY be authorized for those new to Federal service.

Experience and licensure requirements as described apply, with the opportunity for DoD workforce appointments to the competitive service. Applicants must meet the basic nursing requirements and possess a current Practical Nurse license or be in the process of obtaining licensure.

Qualifications

• One year of nursing experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or similar setting.
• Active LPN licensure in the United States or jurisdiction withlicensure in progress acceptable during probation.
• Ability to document patient care and maintain sterile technique.

Responsibilities

• Measure and monitor patient vital signs and status.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document administration.
• Update and maintain patient medical records and nursing notes.
