Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing teams with decentralized, patient-centered care. Under RN supervision, the PCT performs multi-skilled tasks to help achieve patient outcomes and ensure smooth unit operations.

The role features a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, 36 hours per week, and hourly pay. A high school diploma or GED is required, with healthcare experience and relevant certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility.
• CNA, EMT or Paramedic certification preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree or enrollment in a healthcare related program with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Fundamentals course at an accredited institution or equivalent training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
• Hours include a rotating 12-hour shift, 3 shifts per week including weekends and holidays.
