Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care per nursing process.
• Documents findings and reports changes to care team.
• Provides age-appropriate care and education.
• Administers prescribed medications; monitors for side effects.
• Assists physicians during procedures within documented competency.
• Develops and evaluates individualized care plans.
• Responds to emergencies; participates in CPR and code team activities.
• Advocates for patient rights and involves families in planning.
• Educates patients and families on conditions, plans, and aftercare.
• Implements infection control protocols to prevent infections.
• Monitors medical equipment (IV pumps, monitors, ventilators) for safety.
• Maintains patient safety and a clean environment for staff and patients.
• Participates in audits, chart reviews, and compliance checks.
• Documents care and education in the medical record.
• Engages in professional development and maintains nursing standards.
• Participates in performance improvement with data collection.
• Critical Care RN: administers IV meds and manages life-support equipment.
• Emergency Services RN: rapid assessment/triage; performs procedures; stabilizes patients.
• OR Services RN: pre/during/after surgery care; scrubs; sterile environment.
• Cardiac Surgery RN: monitor vitals; meds; advanced life support equipment.
• Endoscopy RN: assess, obtain consent, assist during procedures; post-care.
• Obstetrics/Labor/Delivery RN: educate, monitor mother/newborn; assist with pain relief.
• Oncology RN: administers chemotherapy; manages side effects; patient education.
