Job summary

emergiTEL HR Solutions is seeking experienced ICU Registered Nurses for a 13-week contract assignment in New York. This role involves high-acuity care in the ICU and may include floating between critical care areas as needed. The ideal candidate demonstrates clinical judgment, adaptability, and confidence managing critically ill adult patients.

Requirements include NY RN license, BLS/ACLS, Meditech experience, and a history of traveler assignments. Strong leadership and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Active NY RN license.
• Minimum of 1 traveler assignment completed.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (CCRN preferred).
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients.
• Manage complex patient conditions requiring continuous monitoring and advanced interventions.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with intensivists and the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer and titrate critical care medications and drips, including vasopressors, sedatives, insulin, and heparin.
• Manage ventilators, invasive lines, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
• Rapidly recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with hospital and nursing standards.
• Common diagnoses: Sepsis, ARDS, respiratory failure, multi-organ dysfunction, post-operative critical care, cardiac and neuro critical patients.
• Ventilated and non-ventilated ICU patients.
• Typical patient ratios: 1:1–2
