Job summary

The University of Chicago Medicine seeks a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist for the Adult ICU to provide decentralized clinical services during day and evening shifts across six adult ICUs. You will engage in pharmacotherapy stewardship, drug information, antimicrobial PK consultations, and participate in critical care rounds, aiming to ensure safe, effective therapy for diverse ICU patients.

Ideal candidates hold PharmD, complete PGY1 and PGY2 CC residencies, and are eligible for Illinois

Qualifications

• PharmD degree and licensure in Illinois (or eligible within 60 days).
• Completion of PGY1 residency and PGY2 CC residency.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge in hospital practice and medication-use systems.
• Board certification in area of expertise required within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical services in adult ICUs and participate in response to emergencies.
• Provide decentralized clinical pharmacy services during daytime and evening shifts.
• Perform antimicrobial pharmacokinetic consults and therapeutic drug monitoring.
• Review new admissions and support medication-use safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize pharmacotherapy.
