Job summary

ChristianaCare is recruiting a Clinical Pharmacist at the Newark Campus to join our ICU-focused team. This full-time position (40 hours weekly, 8-hour shifts) may include evenings and weekends/holidays for ICU coverage, with rotation through the central and satellite pharmacies.

You will participate in interdisciplinary rounds, manage therapies, monitor outcomes, and provide patient‑centered care under approved policies. Delaware licensure is required or eligible for reciprocity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or PharmD from an accredited college.
• Residency preferred (ASHP‑accredited) or equivalent 3 years acute care.
• Board certification preferred.
• Active licensure or eligibility to reciprocate in Delaware.

Responsibilities

• Participate in direct patient care through daily interdisciplinary rounds.
• Manage specific medication therapies per approved policies.
• Evaluate drug efficacy and monitor outcomes.
• Order and evaluate laboratory tests to support medication therapy monitoring.
• Identify counseling opportunities and complete medication histories.
• Communicate recommendations with providers directly.
• Document interventions and provide sign out as appropriate.
• Serve as a preceptor for students and residents.
• Provide drug information to allied professionals and fulfill pharmacist consults.
• Assist with projects such as MUEs and pharmacotherapy improvement.
• Review and interpret provider orders and dispense medications.
• Coordinate and supervise workplace activities.
• Oversee satellite pharmacies, including sterile product processing.

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or PharmD

ASHP‑accredited pharmacy residency

Board certification

Current licensure in Delaware
