Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking an IC Lead to manage the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program for its Instrumentation & Control Systems organization. You will provide governance, safety expertise, and people leadership for a small team while line management handles daily safety execution.

You will report to the Sr Director of IAS/QEHSO and operate in a hybrid role from a US Westinghouse facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, project management or related discipline.
• At least seven years' experience in instrument and controls safety.
• Experience creating and teaching safety policies and procedures.
• Professional EHS certifications such as CSP/CIH or related credentials are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and govern the EHS program, ensuring understanding of corporate standards and full compliance with safety regulations.
• Deploy and execute safety processes across offices, manufacturing, sites and vendors; ensure activities follow EHS protocols.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs across the workforce.
• Lead investigations of safety incidents, near-misses and hazards; perform root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Establish safety performance metrics and leading indicators; analyze trends to identify systemic issues.
• Champion a strong safety culture by cascading corporate messaging and Zero Harm mindset.

About the role:

As an IC (Instrument and Control Systems) Lead you will be responsible for managing and governing the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program for Westinghouse's Instrumentation & Control Systems (ICS) organization. You will ensure that the EHS processes and controls align with Westinghouse's corporate EHS standards and all applicable regulatory requirements. You will provide governance oversight and direct support across the engineering, manufacturing, field project and vendor operations. You will provide safety expertise, capability development, and people leadership for a small team of EHS professionals, while line management retains direct accountability for daily safety execution and performance.

You will report to the Sr Director of IAS/QEHSO. You will be hybrid working out of a US Westinghouse facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and govern the EHS program, ensuring understanding of corporate standards and full compliance with all applicable safety regulations across operations.
• Ensure effective deployment and execution of safety processes and controls across engineering offices, manufacturing operations, field project sites and vendor facilities, verifying that all activities are performed safely and in accordance with required EHS protocols.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs across the workforce, spanning manufacturing, vendor, engineering, project and office-based activities.
• Lead investigations of safety incidents, near-misses and workplace hazards, performing cause analyses and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Establish safety performance metrics and leading indicators, analyzing trends from safety observations and reports to identify systemic issues.
• Champion a strong safety culture by cascading corporate messaging and promoting a Zero Harm mindset across all levels.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, project management or a related discipline.
• At least seven years' experience in instrument and controls safety.
• Previous experience creating and teaching safety policies and procedures.
• Professional EHS certifications, such as BCSP accreditations (CSP, CIH or related credentials), are desirable but not mandatory.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $108,000 to $126,000 per year.
