Job summary

Lake County Board of Developmental Disabilities (LCBDD) is seeking an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) Shift Manager Substitute to lead on-site operations, supervise Direct Support Professionals, and ensure safe, high-quality care in the ICF program at Mentor, Ohio.

The position covers 1st–3rd shifts on weekends as needed, requires a High School Diploma or GED, and involves staffing, training, recreation and community inclusion activities, as well as crisis handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day onsite management and supervisor duties for the ICF Program.
• On-site supervision of ICF living units and staffing as needed to ensure appropriate staff levels.
• Actively trains staff in service delivery, active treatment programs, and other necessary programming.
• Coordinate staffing functions including scheduling substitutes and reassigning staff.
• Oversee recreation activities, community outings, and community inclusion efforts.
• Monitor census tracking to ensure whereabouts are known at all times.
• Ensure compliance with program policy and regulations; respond in crisis situations.
• Support policy/procedure development related to safety, programming and building operations.

Our Agency is searching for an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) Shift Manager Substitute.

Essential Job Duties (not all inclusive):

• Perform day-to-day onsite management and supervisor duties for the ICF Program. Direct-line authority over Direct Support Professionals (and support personnel) in the performance of their assigned responsibilities consistent with applicable agency policies and procedures and collective bargaining agreements.
• On-site supervision (conduct rounds) of all ICF living units, re-assign staff as needed, to ensure appropriate staff levels for Individual program service delivery and minimum safety levels.
• Actively and continuously trains staff to improve and maintain a high quality of care. Hands-on trainings include service delivery, active treatment programs, and other necessary programming per individual needs.
• Coordinate staffing component functions to include scheduling substitutes, part-time, etc. and reassign staff.
• Ensure the completion of recreation activities, community outings, and community inclusion efforts by actively assisting residential staff when necessary.
• Provide oversight for census tracking system to ensure that individual whereabouts are known at all times.
• Monitor compliance with program policy and regulations and initiates prompt action and follows agency policy and procedures in crisis situations.
• Recommend, propose, and/or formulate policies or procedures as related to safety, programming and building operational needs.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires varying levels of the use of the senses (sight, hearing, and smell), as well as physical agility, strength, stamina, and manual dexterity appropriate to the duties of the position.
• Ability to independently lift 50 pounds.
