Ice Town in Chicago, IL is seeking an Ice Machine Installer & Service Technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial ice machines at customer sites. You will perform PM inspections, respond to service calls for reach-in and walk-in coolers and freezers, and maintain a professional image.

Ideal candidates have hands-on HVAC tech training or field experience with Scotsman/Manitowoc machines, strong electrical/electronic/mechanical skills, and excellent customer communication.

Qualifications

• Experience with Scotsman or Manitowoc ice machines or technical HVAC training.
• Strong electrical, electronic and mechanical skills.
• Excellent customer communication abilities.
• Commitment to punctuality, organization and professional appearance.
• Must pass drug screen and background check.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial ice machines.

Ice Machine Installer & Service Technician

Overview

Ice Town is looking for an Ice Machine Installer & Service Technician. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing ice machine equipment at customer locations. Our technicians also perform preventative maintenance (PM) inspections and respond to emergency service calls for equipment, including reach-in and walk-in coolers and freezers.

Essential Responsibilities

• Install, Troubleshoot, Diagnose, and Repair Commercial Ice Machines
• Treat customers and employees with respect, courtesy and professionalism
• Complete service calls on time
• Communicate effectively with customers, manager, dispatchers, and sales
• Participate in a normal rotation of after-hours and weekend on-call schedule
• Identify new customers and additional opportunities within existing accounts
• Maintain Service Vehicle
• Order Parts and Complete Required Paperwork
• Attend Training Sessions
• Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications

• Previous field experience working with Scotsman & Manitowoc Ice Machines, or with a recent degree from a technical HVAC school (or related military) experience
• Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills
• Extremely strong customer communication skills
• 100% dedication to working hard, being on time, and staying organized
• Maintain a good personal appearance
• Successful completion of drug screen and criminal background screening
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Driving record must align with our safety standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Commercial Ice Machines
• Experience with Scotsman & Manitowoc Ice Machines or a willingness to learn commercial Ice Machine Repairs & Installation.
• CFESA certification and related Training
• EPA Universal Certification
• Computer literate
