City of Bloomington, MN is seeking an Ice Garden Specialist for the Bloomington Ice Garden. This part-time, year-round role involves maintaining a quality ice surface with scheduled resurfacings and keeping locker rooms, restrooms, lobbies, bleachers and hallways clean as well as other assigned areas.
The position requires availability for 8-24 hours per week, with shifts that may include nights and weekends. The BIG operates from early morning to late evening across most days of the year.
Under the guidance of the Facility Supervisor, the Ice Garden Specialist (previously called Zamboni Driver) is responsible for maintaining a quality ice surface through scheduled resurfacings and other assigned ice maintenance at the Bloomington Ice Garden. The Ice Garden Specialist is responsible for the cleanliness of locker rooms, bathrooms, lobbies, bleachers and hallways, as well as other assigned areas.

Starting Wage $17.44 - 18.86 per hour

BIG is open year round which allows for continues employment throughout the year. BIG is open from 6 a.m. through 11 p.m. most days of the year, including weekends and holidays, but hours can vary significantly based on ice and facility rentals. You must be available to work nights and weekends.
This is a part-time, non-exempt position and is not eligible for benefits.
Ongoing Part-Time employees who are employed for more than 6 months will make contributions to the pension program (PERA) through payroll deductions unless they qualify for one of the exemptions. In addition, Part-Time may receive Paid-time Off (PTO) at rate outlined in employee handbook and eligable for paid parental leave after 6 months of employment.
Temporary/Seasonal employees do not receive benefits outside of Paid-time Off (PTO) at rate outlined in employee handbook.
