Job summary

Oak View Group (OVG) is seeking an Ice Crew member for The Enmarket Arena in Savannah, GA. The role supports ice operations, assists with rink setup and teardown, and ensures smooth event transitions. Part-time, hourly pay with a focus on safety and team coordination.

Responsibilities include ice preparation, net setup, snow removal, and equipment maintenance. Flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade certificate required.
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and walk on wet or slippery surfaces.
• Ability to ice skate with proficiency (own skates).
• Knowledge of hockey facilities and ice installation preferred.
• Familiarity with NHL/AHL/ECHL rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the hockey ice sheet with the Zamboni Driver before games.
• Drill peg holes and set nets on ice; assist during intermissions.
• Shovel snow during and after periods on and off the ice.
• Set up rugs and runners for anthem singers and promotions on and off the ice.
• Assist with repairs to dasherboards and ice rink glass.
• Support various project work as needed.
• Assist in multiple hockey rink setups for different events (matches, youth, college).
• Assist in installing hockey dashers and glass; ice installation/removal.
• Maintain cleanliness of hockey glass and perform blade changes on facility equipment.
• Contribute to preventative maintenance of Zambonis and ice edgers.

Position Summary

The Ice Crew will assist with all Ice operations in the facility. The Ice Crew will support the set up of the hockey rink for events as well as the breaking down of the hockey rink between events.

This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00 - $19.00.

About The Venue

The Enmarket Arena is a 9,500-seat arena with luxury suites, club seating, and first-rate food and beverage. The Enmarket Arena bolsters entertainment in the Southeast by hosting must-see national touring concerts, family shows, comedians, and more. The venue also expanded sports in the region by introducing a tenant ECHL hockey team, the Savannah Ghost Pirates, along with presenting professional, collegiate, and amateur sporting events.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of Hockey ice sheet alongside the Zamboni Driver prior to the game.
• Drill peg holes and set nets on ice prior to the game and during intermissions.
• Shovel snow during and after periods on and off the ice.
• Assist as needed setting up rugs and runners for anthem singers and special promotions on and off the ice.
• Assist other staff with making repairs and adjustments to dasherboards and ice rink glass.
• May assist in various project work as necessary.
• Assist in a variety of hockey rink set-ups, including ice hockey matches, youth skates, college hockey, and other configurations.
• Assist in installing hockey dashers and glass.
• Assist in ice installation and removal.
• Maintain cleanliness of hockey glass, cleaning prior to games and special events.
• Assist in preventative maintenance of Zambonis, ice edgers, and blade changes, including all facility equipment.
• Assist as needed at all OVG's Savannah properties, including Port Wentworth Ice Cove, Vystar Pavillion, Johnny Mercer Theatre and any future projects.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school certificate required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended numbers of consecutive days.
• Ability to lift heavy objects on or off the ice and walk on wet or slippery surfaces.
• Ability to ice skate with proficiency (start, stop, turn) using your own skates.
• Strong knowledge of hockey facilities is preferred, including ice installation.
• Possess a demonstrated knowledge of NHL/AHL/ECHL standard rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and/or a stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
