Job summary

Syracuse Crunch is seeking an Ice Crew Attendant to join a professional ice maintenance team. You should be athletic, a skilled skater, and comfortable on camera in a high-energy hockey environment.

Responsibilities include snow removal during media timeouts, assisting ice resurfacer drivers, and working flexible hours including nights and weekends. Prior rink experience and teamwork are valued for success in this role.

JOB SUMMARY

The Ice Crew Attendant will be a member of a professional, high energy ice maintenance team. Team members will be athletic, experienced skaters interested in ice maintenance, comfortable on camera in a high energy hockey environment.

Essential Functions

• Assist with maintenance of ice (shoveling, moving nets, etc.) and operating associated equipment as required.
• Ice crew members are the group responsible for skating on the ice to remove snow and ice build-up during media timeouts.
• Assists ice resurfacer drivers by moving hockey nets during and after games.
• Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills And Experience

• Experience working in an ice rink setting in front of large crowds preferred.
• Crew members will be proficient ice skaters.
• Candidates will possess an outgoing personality, good energy, positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, professionalism, poise, strong communication abilities, strong work ethic and reliability.

Other Requirements

• Ice Crew members will need to have a flexible schedule and the ability to work irregular hours, various shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• The ability to demonstrate dependability and reliability by being punctual, working assigned and varying shifts and completing responsibilities in a timely manner are required.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to an rink/arena environment, with noise levels usually moderate to loud.
