Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx is seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle coder to handle daily ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding for the Neuro department. The role includes billing, collections, and related duties to support accurate and timely reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years EPIC EMR experience and clerical work in patient registration/billing/coding.
• Energetic, focused team player with a positive outlook.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to enter alpha/numeric data quickly and work independently.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; strong knowledge of Epic EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Verifies CPT-4 codes and identifies principal and secondary ICD-10 codes; coding accuracy.
• Reviews physician documentation in EPF for billing accuracy; coding precise.
• Reviews TES/Medicode coding edits for accuracy.
• Resolves coding denials to maximize reimbursement.
• Gathers and verifies required patient treatment documentation daily.
• Generates inpatient physician charges; ensures complete and accurate billing.
• Reconciles discharge reports against EPF to capture all charges.
• Communicates with physicians to verify chart documentation.
• Assists in training of new associates and supports special projects.
• Promotes Montefiore Standards of Excellence.
