Job summary

Willdan Group, Inc. is seeking an ICC-Certified Building Inspector in Norwalk, CA. Inspect commercial, residential, and industrial properties to ensure compliance with safety and building code regulations.

Responsibilities include issuing permits, documenting results, and communicating findings to homeowners and contractors. The role involves coordinating with other inspectors and providing training and guidance to staff, with ongoing education as part of the job.

Qualifications

• ICC Certification (Commercial and Residential).
• Valid CA Class C Driver’s License.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with jurisdictions as a Building Inspector.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and up to 25 pounds on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections before, during, and after construction to ensure code compliance.
• Issue notices, stop-work orders, and permits as required.
• Document inspection results and communicate findings clearly.
• Coordinate with other field inspectors and assist as needed.
• Provide training and mentoring to current inspectors and participate in staff development.
• Follow up on code-related questions and accessibility when addressing customers.
