Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks an ICAM Data Engineer focused on enterprise Power BI visualization and reporting. This remote role designs dashboards and semantic models, collaborates with ETL teams, and ensures data quality across identity governance analytics.

You will work with IGA, cybersecurity, and mission stakeholders to align dashboards with governance and Zero Trust requirements, supporting audit readiness and certification metrics.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets supporting identity lifecycle, entitlements, access certifications, joiner/mover/leaver activities, and compliance workflows.
• Create and maintain semantic models, data relationships, DAX measures, and reusable reporting components.
• Partner with ETL engineers to understand the Azure Synapse data pipelines producing parquet datasets from SailPoint SQL sources.
• Validate that incoming parquet datasets contain complete, accurate, and appropriately structured data needed for reporting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, design prototypes, refine KPIs, and ensure dashboards support mission needs.
• Establish data quality validation checks and refresh monitoring to ensure accurate and timely reporting outputs.
• Work with IGA, cybersecurity, and operations teams to align reporting with governance, audit, and Zero Trust requirements.
• Document semantic models, business logic, data lineage, and visualization standards for enterprise use.
• Support continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to datasets, transformations, and visualization techniques.

ICAM Data Engineer – Enterprise Reporting & Power BI Visualization

GDIT has an opportunity for a Data Engineer focused on designing, building, and optimizing Power BI reporting solutions that support enterprise Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) analytics. This role centers on transforming complex identity and entitlement datasets into intuitive, high‑value dashboards that enable leadership insights, compliance reporting, access governance visibility, and Zero Trust metrics. While the primary responsibility is Power BI dataset and report development, the role requires a working understanding of upstream ETL processes.

This is a fully remote position.

You will work closely with data engineers, IGA operations, cybersecurity analysts, and mission stakeholders to ensure identity data is accurately represented and aligned with reporting needs.

Your work will directly influence enterprise decision-making, audit readiness, access risk analytics, certification performance metrics, and enterprise security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications:

• Active Secret Clearance at minimum. Interim Secret Clearances are not allowed.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline and 8 yrs experience, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
• DoD 8140 certification (Security+ CE or higher)

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Strong hands-on experience designing Power BI dashboards and semantic models
• Proficiency with DAX, Power Query, data profiling, and visualization best practices
• Understanding of relational SQL concepts and ability to read/interpret upstream data structures
• Familiarity with Azure Synapse, data lakes, and parquet datasets (high-level understanding sufficient)
• Ability to partner with ETL developers to ensure dataset readiness and alignment with reporting needs
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex data relationships to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience documenting reports, models, and data flows

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

• Familiarity with DoD identity ecosystems, authoritative identity governance, and enterprise ICAM modernization efforts
• Understanding of identity governance metrics, role/entitlement models, access reviews, and certification reporting
• Exposure to Python, Spark, SQL, or data transformation scripts
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices for Power BI deployment pipelinesKnowledge of Zero Trust analytics, audit reporting, or enterprise compliance frameworks

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
