Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Winter/Spring 2027 IC Layout Co-op to work with experienced engineers on laying out silicon ICs for RF front-end modules.

You will gain hands-on design experience and use Cadence Virtuoso in a fast-paced, collaborative environment in Cedar Rapids and Greensboro. You will learn layout techniques, verify ICs, and participate in challenges that prepare you for future opportunities in semiconductors.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an IC layout program at a technical institution.
• Ability to place and route IC devices.
• Commitment to work onsite for 6 month Co-op term (January - May/June 2027).
• Experience using a schematic/netlist-driven CAD layout process.
• Self-starter and team player with ability to learn on the job.
• Experience using Cadence Virtuoso and Calibre verification tools.
• Some experience with DRC/LVS checking.
• Good communication, organizational skills.
• Basic understanding of semiconductor processes, resistors, capacitors, and FETs.

Responsibilities

Skyworks is an industry leader in cellular handset wireless product development, seeking a Winter/Spring 2027 IC Layout Co-Op with expertise in Silicon Integrated Circuit layout. In this role, you work with experienced engineering professionals to understand and lay out silicon Integrated Circuits. You will participate in developing advanced silicon Integrated Circuits for state-of-the-art RF front-end modules. The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $29.00 - $49.00 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $23.00 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
