Job summary

Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) in San Francisco is actively seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist with a strong interest in IBD to join a growing gastroenterology team. The role blends outpatient IBD and general GI with opportunities to grow the IBD component over time.

The position offers hospital work at CPMC Van Ness Campus, outpatient duties at the Van Ness Medical Office Building, and procedural duties at Golden Gate Endoscopy Center, with teaching and research

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Eligible for a California medical license.
• Interest and experience in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to collaborative patient care.

Responsibilities

• Practice a mix of IBD and general gastroenterology, with 20–30% IBD initially.
• Expand the IBD program over time based on patient demand.
• Join an established team of 3 gastroenterologists and 1 advanced practice provider.
• Primary outpatient practice at the CPMC Van Ness Medical Office Building.
• Hospital practice at CPMC Van Ness Campus, with occasional coverage at Mission Bernal Campus.
• Procedural practice at Golden Gate Endoscopy Center.
• Participate in ambulatory surgery center joint venture.
• Separate call team manages ED coverage; physicians provide select inpatient and transfer coverage.
• Access to an expansive multispecialty referral network.
• Opportunities for teaching and participation in clinical research.
