Job summary

M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY seeks an experienced IAM Governance Leader to manage the Workforce Identity Access Management Governance team. You will influence policy, drive risk-managed IAM programs, and partner with Cybersecurity and Internal Audit to enhance controls.

Role is four days onsite at Seneca One Buffalo, NY with one day per week from home, reporting to Cybersecurity leadership and shaping the IAM roadmap for cloud and on-premise identities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years' relevant work experience, or 9+ years' combined education and/or work experience including at least 4 years in cybersecurity/technology.
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of IAM principles and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide governance leadership across IAM platforms (e.g., SailPoint, Azure AD/Entra ID, CyberArk, PAM).
• Define birthright access expectations, entitlement management, and certification strategies.
• Lead cloud identity governance including RBAC, conditional access, and privileged role governance.
• Develop and monitor comprehensive IAM policy framework with risk-aware controls.
• Prepare leadership-ready reports by analyzing data and presenting materials for senior leadership.
