Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking an Information Security Engineer for a long-term contract in Irving, TX. The role focuses on building and securing data pipelines, with strong GCP, Parquet/ORC, and CDC expertise.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable security-focused data architectures, review ingestion processes, and ensure governance standards on both batch and streaming workloads.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, training, military experience, or education.
• Airflow experience (2-4 years).
• API experience (2-4 years).
• CI/CD experience (2-4 years).
• Data Modeling (4-6 years).
• Data pipelines (2-4 years).
• Data Processing (4-6 years).
• Google Cloud Platform experience (4-6 years).
• Pyspark experience (4-6 years).
• Strong understanding of Google Cloud architecture, including bucket structuring, naming standards, lifecycle policies, and access control.
• Hands-on with columnar formats (Parquet, Avro, ORC) and compression strategies.
• Experience building batch and streaming ingestion pipelines using GCP-native services.
• Knowledge of Pub/Sub–based streaming architectures, schema design, evolution, and versioning.
• Familiarity with incremental ingestion techniques and CDC patterns.
• Understanding data consumption and exposure patterns including views, APIs, and curated datasets.

Responsibilities

• Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives within Information Security Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning.
• Review and analyze moderately complex Information Security Engineering challenges requiring in-depth evaluation.
• Contribute to resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet deliverables while following policies, procedures, and compliance.
• Collaborate with client personnel in Information Security Engineering.

• Knowledge of Pub/Sub–based streaming architectures, including event schema design, schema evolution, and versioning best practices.
• Familiarity with incremental ingestion techniques and Change Data Capture (CDC) patterns.
• Understanding of data consumption and exposure patterns including views, APIs, and curated analytical datasets.
