Israeli-American Council (IAC) seeks a Center Maintenance Operator Assistant for the IAC Shepher Center in Woodland Hills, CA. This part-time role supports daily maintenance, cleanliness, and operations, with weekend and evening availability required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning duties (mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, dusting, restroom sanitizing, replenishing supplies).
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, storage areas, and supply rooms.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks (replace bulbs, fix hardware, replace filters, minor carpentry, basic repairs).
• Set up and break down furniture/equipment for programs/events.
• Coordinate maintenance tasks around center schedules, including weekend/evening events.
• Monitor facility systems and equipment; oversee service contractors as needed.
• Keep maintenance logs and order parts and supplies with proper documentation.
• Ensure compliance with IAC policies and OSHA standards.
• Respond to communications during working hours (phone/handheld).
• Perform basic outdoor grounds upkeep (sweeping/leaf blowing, litter removal, seasonal planting).

Position Summary

The Center Maintenance Operator plays a key role in creating a well-maintained, safe, welcoming, and functional environment for staff, program participants, and community visitors. This IAC Center Maintenance Operator is responsible for the daily maintenance, cleanliness, and operational support of the IAC Shepher Community Center. This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week, and he/she will report to the IAC Center Maintenance Operator. This position requires availability to work on Sundays and evenings as needed to support community programs and center operations.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Facility Maintenance & Cleaning

• Perform daily cleaning duties, including mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, dusting, restroom sanitizing, and replenishing supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen (appliances, counters), storage areas, and supply rooms.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including:
  • Replacing light bulbs
  • Fixing basic hardware (doorknobs, locks, hinges)
  • Replacing filters
  • Minor carpentry tasks
  • Basic repairs to fixtures and equipment

Event & Program Support

• Set up and break down furniture, equipment, and supplies for programs and events.
• Coordinate maintenance tasks around center activity schedules, including weekend and evening events.

Operational Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the functionality of facility systems and equipment.
• Meet and oversee service contractors as needed.
• Keep maintenance logs and records.
• Order parts, supplies, and equipment with appropriate documentation.
• Ensure compliance with IAC policies and OSHA safety standards.
• Respond to communication devices during working hours (phone/handheld).

Grounds Maintenance

• Perform basic outdoor upkeep, including sweeping/leaf blowing, litter removal, and seasonal planting.

Skills/Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience in building maintenance, facility operations, or related work preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
