What You Will Do
- Read and correct the following drawings: Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&ID), Electrical Drawings, Instrument Loop Drawings, Schematics
- Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate all plant instrumentation and electrical equipment as necessary
- Able to install, repair, and complete revisions to plant instrumentation and electrical equipment while following drawings and making ‘As Built’ corrections or drawings as needed
- After being trained in the use of the DocuMint Database and Calibrations, use them for scheduling, calibration, and documentation of plant instrumentation
- Maintain the instrumentation and electrical spare parts inventory
- Perform all work while emphasizing safety and maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally compliant work area
- Support the guiding principles of Responsible Care to continually improve safety, health, and environmental performance, security, and public relations regarding chemical products
- Support and be committed to the Quality Improvement Process, planning strategies to ensure error-free work and conveying a ‘right‑first‑time’ attitude in daily duties
- Support and incorporate Continuous Improvement activities into ongoing work duties, using them to eliminate losses and waste that hamper facility effectiveness, advance safety, improve reliability, stabilize quality, and reduce operating costs
Position Details
Plant located in: Freeport, Texas. Work week and shift: Regular hours Monday through Friday, with the exception of a weekend rotational on‑call responsibility.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years of experience in I/E in an industrial maintenance environment
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals
- Ability to don a respirator
- Ability to wear fall protection if necessary
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevation, including from a manlift or ladder
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal vocational training or certification in a plant maintenance area of expertise
- Forklift operation certification
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Prior chemical plant maintenance experience
Physical Demands
- Ability to bend, squat down, and reach above your head
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Role is deemed safety‑sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing
