Description:

This position is responsible for maintaining, replacing, programming, calibrating, and troubleshooting the instrumentation, electrical, and control systems across the Company’s production assets. This role primarily supports and coordinates with production operations, maintenance, and facility construction projects. The role is responsible for SCADA and automation upgrades, as well as control system improvements that support capital projects, HS&E initiatives, and other field activities to minimize downtime and protect facility integrity. The role must work independently, but know when to elevate issues when additional resources or support is needed. The role is responsible for knowledge of, adherence to, and execution of proper safety practices to promote and ensure an incident- and injury-free workplace for all employees, contractors, and individuals that work on or visit the Company’s property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position comes with the following minimum set of responsibilities and requires an individual to be proficient in performing the listed duties.

• Responsible for conducting their operations safely and being an ambassador for safety and environmental protection through the Company.
• Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and troubleshooting instrumentation and control devices including PLCs, RTUs (ROC 107/800 and Total Flow), HMIs, flow computers, tank metering and level sensors, wired and wireless transmitters for tubing, flowline, and casing pressure, regulators, pressure switches, and automated control and safety systems.
• Responsible for configuring, programming, and maintaining software and communications for PLC, RTU, and SCADA (CygNet) systems, and using SCADA to identify and resolve equipment and communication issues.
• Responsible for maintaining, repairing, replacing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and components, including power distribution, wiring and terminations, motor controls, VFDs, control panels, and solar power systems in accordance with hazardous area classification requirements.
• Responsible for maintaining, repairing, replacing, and configuring artificial lift automation, including automated gas lift valves, plunger lift controllers, and the associated sensors, control logic, and set points needed to optimize production.
• Responsible for calibrating, verifying, and maintaining measurement devices, including Coriolis, turbine, and other flow meters, to protect measurement accuracy and support reliable production allocation.
• Responsible for performing functional and loop testing of safety shutdown systems, including ESD and SDV devices, burner management systems, and end device testing for pressure, level, and shutdown set points at facilities.
• Responsible for supporting production operations by diagnosing and resolving field I&E issues that impact runtime, and maintenance and existing facility capital expense projects such as automation upgrades, artificial lift additions, and control system improvements.
• Responsible for checking the work order system daily and executing assigned I&E work orders in a timely manner.
• Responsible for documenting set point changes, control logic modifications, and equipment changes, and routing them through the Management of Change (MOC) process, maintaining accurate redlines, as-built drawings, and loop and wiring documentation.
• Responsible for supporting the workover activity as it relates to instrumentation, electrical, and automation.
• Responsible for efficient use of parts, materials, and contract labor, ensuring field tickets and invoices are correct prior to signing or approving.
• Responsible for safe driving and proper maintenance of their assign company vehicle, including all maintenance and the vehicle’s appearance.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills

Below is the minimum education, experience, and skills required or preferred to perform this job:

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
• At least 5 years of experience in oil, gas, and water I&E and PLC programming.

Other Skills

• Work independently with minimum supervision
• Able to perform basic mathematical functions
• Skilled at I&E equipment installations
• Able to read and understand technical information, operating instructions, and specifications

Computer & Software Skills

• Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.

Certificates and Licenses

• Must possess an active driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
