Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking an I&C Technician for outage contract assignments, reporting onsite to various nuclear facilities in North and South Carolina. You will work under the I&C Supervisor to install, repair, and calibrate instruments and associated piping and tubing.

The role requires 3 years in I&C, 1 year nuclear experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent, with background and drug/alcohol screening.

Qualifications

• 3 years' experience in I&C field.
• 1 year of nuclear experience.
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Ability to pass criminal background, drug/alcohol screen (including medical and recreational marijuana and CBD oil), and employment testing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, layout, assemble, install and repair instruments, both electronic and pneumatic, including primary piping and tubing.
• Select type and size of pipe and related material according to job specification.
• Install, repair, maintain, and adjust indicating, recording and controlling instruments and test equipment, used to control and measure variables (pressure, flow, temperature, motion, chemical composition), using precision instruments and hand tools.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install primary piping and tubing.
• Read and interpret instructions and documentation and plan work activities.
• May disassemble malfunctioning instruments or test equipment and examine and test mechanisms and circuitry for defects.
• Inspect instruments and test equipment periodically and adjust calibration to ensure functioning within specified standards.
• Install associated support structures, components and tubing.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Perform other duties as required.
