Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Construction Manager to lead onsite controls quality for a high‑tech facility project in Childress, TX. You will coordinate with design teams, clients, subcontractors, and trades to resolve complex coordination issues and drive preconstruction through commissioning and punch lists.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in automated control system construction.
• Experience on industrial/semiconductor projects required.
• Experience in live high-tech facilities required.
• LEED AP preferred or ability to obtain in 18 months.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite quality control for the controls scope from preconstruction to commissioning and punch list.
• Collaborate with design professionals, clients, subcontractors and craftspeople for coordination and issue resolution.
• Participate in design and constructability reviews.
• Review project documents and ensure alignment with specifications and standards.

Job Description

The Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Construction Manager will work within the Construction Management Department and will report to the Project Manager. They will work closely with design professionals, clients, subcontractors, and craftspeople to address complex civil, architectural, and structural coordination issues. The I&C Construction Manager will participate in design and constructability reviews and lead our onsite quality control program for the controls scope of work, which will include document review during preconstruction through commissioning and punch list. This position will be fully at the project site in Childress, TX.

Skills and Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of building automated control system construction experience required.
• Extensive experience in industrial and/or hi-tech semiconductor manufacturing projects is required.
• Experience working in a live high tech facility required.
• LEED Accredited Professional, or the ability to become accredited within eighteen (18) months preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent degree and/or equivalent field work experience required.
• Education background in materials and methods of construction.

Position Related Skills

• Experience working in cleanroom environments.
• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams), and have a general understanding of working within a computer network.
• Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
• Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
• Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.
• Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method. Familiar with CSI specification system for construction.
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of all aspects of building automated control system construction.
• Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.
• Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude through high-pressure situations.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work while frequently interrupted by phone calls and questions on work in progress.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to work closely with variety of trade and craft people in a field work situation. Patience and professionalism are essential.
• Must be a strong team player with the ability to collaborate with various personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership.
• Work schedule must be flexible to allow extended hours or off-shift work to accommodate changing construction schedule and sequences.Education in the field.
• Extensive experience on large industrial and hi-tech fabrication projects preferred
