Job Summary
The Lube Technician will perform routine vehicle maintenance, inspections, and minor services while following manufacturer specifications and all company safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform engine oil and oil filter changes.
- Check and top off engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid.
- Perform tire rotations and check tire pressure and tread condition.
- Conduct thorough multi-point vehicle inspections.
- Replace air filters, cabin filters, wiper blades, and other routine maintenance items.
- Inspect brakes, belts, hoses, tires, lights, and other basic vehicle components.
- Identify potential maintenance or repair concerns and communicate findings to the Service Advisor.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed.
- Follow manufacturer, dealership, and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Properly use automotive tools, lifts, and shop equipment.
- Assist other technicians and service department personnel as needed.
- Attend required training and continue developing automotive service skills.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous automotive, quick-lube, dealership, or mechanical experience preferred, but entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply .
- Basic understanding of automotive maintenance.
- Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to safely drive both automatic and manual-transmission vehicles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and work under vehicles for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must follow all workplace safety and environmental procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive technology or trade-school training.
- Previous oil-change or quick-lube experience.
- ASE training or certification.
- Experience with tire service and basic vehicle inspections.
- Familiarity with common automotive tools and shop equipment.
