Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company in Columbus, NE is seeking an on-site manufacturing operator to run equipment, stage materials for changeovers, and perform SAP data entries. You will help meet production rate and quality goals while maintaining GMP standards and safety regulations.

The role requires High School diploma or equivalent (or two years manufacturing experience) and forklift certification. Prior MES and forklift experience are preferred, with teamwork and compliance as core expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing and with MES is preferred.
• Forklift experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment in a manufacturing setting following SOPs and safe practices.

Job Description

Job Group/Grade: JG1, H06

Position Summary

Responsible for operating equipment in department safety and producing quality products per documentation. Assist associates in department by providing materials, stage materials for changeovers, and performing SAP data entries. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Work as one of a team for maximum effectiveness and optimal task methods, which includes operating equipment, raw material and finished goods movements and clean room area and equipment cleaning / sanitizing.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate product identification, traceability and material status and accurately
• Must be able to safely operate electric forklifts (stand up and sit down), electric pallet jacks, slip sheeting equipment and material tuggers.
• Must achieve and maintain forklift certification.
• Assist with staging materials changeovers, line clearance and cleaning.
• Assist in achieving production rate and quality goals on assigned equipment
• Facilitate continuous operation of the equipment through breaks.
• Cross train where needed within the department to support the business
• Maintain all quality and GMP standards
• Perform needed SAP data entries
• Participate on blitz teams as assigned
• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business

Education

• High School diploma/GED preferred
• In lieu of High School diploma/GED, two years manufacturing experience is required

Experience

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred
• Previous experience with MES preferred
• Forklift experience preferred
