Torch Technologies is seeking a Hypersonic Aerothermal Test Engineer/Analyst to support AEDC at Arnold AFB, TN. The role focuses on test planning, data analysis, and modeling to advance hypersonic weapon systems.

Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, able to obtain/maintain Secret DoD clearance, and hold a Bachelor's in Physics, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, with 5+ years in related work. Onsite, M-F, 8-5, with safety-first responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Active Secret DoD security clearance (must be maintained).
• At least 5 years direct experience in hypersonic flight or ground testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead test inquiry, planning, and execution for hypersonic ground tests.
• Perform in-depth analysis of test data and prepare quick-look and detailed technical reports.
• Utilize commercial and in-house simulation codes and analysis tools to support testing activities.
• Provide senior aerothermal test engineering expertise in TPS ablation, FTSI modeling, and heat transfer.

Come grow with us!Torch Technologies is seeking a highly skilled **Hypersonic Aerothermal Test Engineer/Analyst** to support the 715th Test Squadron (715 TS) at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC). The 715 TS operates world-class aerodynamic and propulsion test facilities, and this role is critical to advancing the nation's hypersonic weapon and flight systems. This position is located onsite at Arnold AFB, TN. **As a Test Engineer/Analyst, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:** ***Test Planning & Execution:**** Lead the complete test inquiry, planning, and execution process for hypersonic ground tests in arcjet test facilities, ensuring alignment with government and customer requirements.* Advise and assist government and customers in assessing test conditions and addressing test cell/test article interactions.* Develop requirements, test objectives, measures of performance, and success criteria to support the evaluation of hypersonic weapon systems.* Lead Technical, Safety, and Readiness Review Boards. ***Data Analysis & Reporting:**** Perform in-depth analysis of test data to meet analysis objectives.* Prepare quick-look reports and detailed technical reports to document test planning, data processing, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations. ***Modeling & Simulation:**** Utilize commercial and in-house simulation codes and analysis tools to support testing activities. ***Technical Support & Expertise:**** Provide senior aerothermal test engineering and/or analysis expertise in areas such as aerothermal testing and analysis, Thermal Protection System (TPS) ablation, Fluid-thermal-structural interaction (FTSI) modeling and simulation, computational heat transfer, optical diagnostic techniques, and statistical methods. ***Collaboration & Communication:**** Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.* Collaborate effectively with senior staff and peers, communicating clearly and concisely in both oral and written formats. **Required Qualifications:*** U.S. Citizenship* Education - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.* Must be able to obtain/maintain Secret DoW security clearance.
