Sumitomo Electric U.S.A., Inc. seeks a Network Systems Engineer to shape the AI infrastructure roadmap for hyperscale clusters, blending Co-Packaged Optics, silicon photonics, and high-speed interconnects.

You will track GPU and photonics trends and translate them into actionable guidance for internal R&D. You will also serve as a technical ambassador, presenting at industry conferences and guiding build-vs-partner decisions while coordinating with partners to advance cutting-edge AI

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
3–5 years in systems engineering, data-center hardware, or optical interconnect.
Experience representing a company at industry venues is preferred.

Responsibilities

Define and own the roadmap for hyperscale AI cluster solutions including CPO and networking.
Track GPU, SiPh, and industry trends to guide internal R&D decisions.
Understand data-center architectures from rack to data-center scale.
Represent the brand at forums and in partner engagements for co-developed solutions.
Deliver presentations at conferences and customer briefings as a credible spokesperson.
Influence industry standards bodies and shape emerging optics and networking standards.
