Google is seeking a Social Media and External Communications Manager to lead hyperlocal social campaigns for U.S. data center communities across New York, Mountain View, Seattle, and other locations.

You will manage an external agency, ensure brand consistency, and align messaging with Google's data center narratives while collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders. The role requires strong writing and strategic thinking with a focus on community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in communications, public relations, or public affairs, with a focus on social media.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a targeted social media strategy tailored to hyperlocal audiences in U.S. markets across various social media platforms, working closely with our agency of record and Google’s community development managers (CDMs).
• Manage the external social media firm to deliver on landscape monitoring, audits, paid social campaigns, and community communications across channels.
• Review and approve copy, visual assets, and engagement strategies to ensure high quality and brand consistency.
• Ensure all social media activations rigorously align with Google’s narratives around innovation, affordability, environmental protection, and community benefits.
• Establish KPIs and sentiment metrics with the agency, using real-time data to optimize social strategies and report insights to leadership.
