Job summary

Lane & Associates Family Dentistry in Troy, NC seeks a compassionate Dental Hygienist to support patients’ long-term oral health and provide preventive care. You will work under the dentist, collaborating with the team to ensure exceptional patient experiences.

Key duties include room prep, patient histories, prophylaxis, scaling, sealants, and periodontal therapy, with emphasis on STM and home-care planning. OA policies and 5-star patient service are core to the role.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene Program with CEU certifications.
• Current state licensure in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to lift 15–20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, disinfect, and stock the treatment room for each appointment.
• Update patient health histories, take blood pressure, and gather visit information.
• Educate patients about oral health needs, treatment options, and long-term outcomes.
• Provide STM and customize home-care plans for periodontal patients.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to maintain clean, organized treatment and lab areas.
• Document patient conditions, histories, treatment notes, and feedback.
• Perform hygiene procedures: prophylaxis, scaling, sealants, polishing, fluoride.

You’ll work under general supervision from the dentist and collaborate closely with our clinical team to ensure exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, disinfect, and fully stock the treatment room for each appointment.
• Update patient health histories, take blood pressure, and gather visit information.
• Educate patients about their oral health needs, treatment options, and long-term outcomes.
• Provide Soft Tissue Management (STM) and customize home-care plans for periodontal patients.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to maintain clean, organized, and professional treatment and lab areas.
• Document patient conditions, medical/dental histories, treatment notes, and patient feedback.
• Perform hygiene treatment procedures, including prophylaxis, scaling, sealants, coronal polishing, and fluoride applications.
• Manage and oversee non-surgical periodontal therapy programs.
• Expose digital radiographs.
• Lead the preventive maintenance program and partner with the hygiene assistant on recall systems.
• Maintain inventory control in hygiene rooms.
• Sharpen and sterilize periodontal instruments.
• Work independently with recurring and routine tasks.
• Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety policies.
• Support the office by helping earn 5-star Google reviews through exceptional patient experiences.
• Other duties as assigned.
