Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings (prophylaxis), periodontal scaling and root planing.
• Take and process dental X-rays and digital scans.

• Educate patients on brushing, flossing and long-term oral hygiene.
• Provide nutritional and lifestyle guidance related to oral health.
• Review and update medical histories and patient records.
• Collaborate with dentist on treatment planning.
• Document clinical findings in Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
• Maintain OSHA, CDC and HIPAA infection control standards.
• Sterilize, clean and prepare instruments and treatment rooms.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply sealants, fluoride, and desensitizing agents
• Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and long-term oral hygiene habits

Treatment Coordination & Documentation

• Review and update medical histories and patient records
• Collaborate with the dentist on treatment planning
• Document clinical findings accurately in patient management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)

Infection Control & Equipment Care

• Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, CDC, and HIPAA guidelines
• Clean, sterilize, and prepare instruments and treatment rooms
