Job summary

Westrock Coffee Company is seeking a Factory Hygienist to uphold hygiene, sanitation, and food safety across a low-acid beverage facility. You will support FDA/FSMA/HACCP compliance through proactive environmental control and pest management.

The role requires 2–5 years in beverage or food manufacturing, with familiarity in hot fill, aseptic, or carbonation processes. Strong microbiology knowledge and audit experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.
• 2–5 years experience in beverage or food manufacturing.
• Experience with low-acid beverage processes (hot fill, aseptic, carbonation) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSMA Preventive Controls, microbiology, and pest management principles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee external sanitation and equipment cleanliness across production lines.
• Validate sanitation effectiveness via visual checks, ATP testing, and microbiology.
• Lead environmental monitoring for yeast, mold, and Alicyclobacillus.
• Analyze trends in sanitation data to identify risks.
• Conduct GMP and hygiene audits across sites.
• Support hygienic zoning and cross-contamination controls.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance to improve hygienic design.
• Participate in root cause analysis for contamination events.
• Lead sanitation training and food safety culture initiatives.
• Manage integrated pest control with a third-party provider.
• Review pest control reports and drive corrective actions.
• Inspect facilities to prevent pest incursions and ensure compliance.
