Job summary

Dental Care Alliance in Burke, VA is seeking a Hygiene Pathway - PSR trainee. You will support the dental team, assist hygienists, and help with patient education while awaiting your state hygiene license. This role welcomes candidates currently in hygiene school and offers a pathway to licensure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Radiology certification if applicable.
• CPR certification preferred but can be obtained on hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with commitment to patient care and comfort.
• Currently in Hygiene school and expect to graduate within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization.
• Assist Hygienists during patient treatment progress.
• Update patient health history and chart treatment progress.
• Expose and develop radiographs (if certified).
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Coordinate with staff to manage inventory and sterilization of instruments.
• Support hygienist with scheduling and recall systems.
• Perform routine tasks while complying with HIPAA & OSHA.
