Sharpsburg Dental Care, part of Heartland Dental, is seeking an experienced Hygiene Assistant in Sharpsburg, GA to join a fast-paced, patient-focused team. You will support hygienists, educate patients, and help deliver top-notch care using Dentrix.

Requirements include 2–3 years of dental assisting, active X-ray certification, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills. Schedule is Monday–Thursday 7:45 AM–5:00 PM and Friday 7:45 AM–2:00 PM, with benefits and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and maintain patient comfort and education during treatment.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Assist hygienists during procedures in line with state dental practice act.
• Set up rooms for hygiene visits, stocking instruments and supplies.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms with safety protocols per OSHA & CDC guidance.
• Collaborate with providers to maximize office workflow.

More About The Role

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, as well as sustain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment.
• Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care.
• Provide superior assistance to supported hygienists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act.
• Assist with setting up rooms for all hygiene visits including stocking and restocking instruments and supplies
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations
• Partner with the providers and team to follow office systems and maximize office workflow.

Minimum Qualifications-

• On the job training and additional certification may be required based on state requirements
• High school graduate or GED Equivalent
• Team Player
• Ability to work in a fast-paced customer-focused environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• The position will have access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job-related functions; regular HIPAA training, aligning with the specific role and responsibilities, will be required; and the individual will need to protect PHI and maintain data safeguards.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting and standing.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times.
• Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person)periodically throughout the year.

This is a standard requirement for dental office roles and must be completed prior to starting employment.
