Job summary

Lane & Associates Family Dentistry is hiring a Hygiene Assistant in Louisburg, NC. The role supports hygienists with clerical and clinical tasks, maintains patient charts, and helps deliver excellent patient care. You will interact with patients, assist in the treatment rooms, and help manage recalls and scheduling.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid NC X-ray Certification required.
DAI Certification is required.
Ability to lift 15–20 lbs.

Responsibilities

Ensure treatment rooms are stocked, disinfected, and set up for each appointment.
Greet patients and introduce your role.
Update medical history and record blood pressure as requested.
Chart and document procedures; note next treatment.
Collaborate with staff to maintain a clean lab and rooms.
Document patient conditions and history accurately.
Reinforce home-care instructions and treatments advised by hygienist.
Assist with managing the office recall system.
Maintain inventory in hygiene rooms and sterilize instruments.
Participate in shared maintenance duties.
Perform routine tasks independently and monitor schedule.

This position helps ensure the hygienist can work efficiently and provide exceptional patient care. Direct patient interaction may vary based on the hygienist’s needs, but the goal is for the Hygiene Assistant to actively contribute, grow their knowledge, and enhance the overall patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure treatment rooms are properly stocked, disinfected, and set up for each appointment
Greet patients warmly and introduce your role
Update medical history and obtain blood pressure as requested by the hygienist
