Job summary

Sanders Brothers Construction Co. Inc. is seeking a Hydrovac Operator to support underground vac/cam operations in the Charleston area. You will expose utilities using hydrovac equipment and assist water, sewer, and storm drain projects, with driving and positioning responsibilities as needed.

The role requires a valid CDL (Class A or B) and flexibility for extended hours and local/overnight travel. Safety, daily inspections, and proper documentation are essential components of the job.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL required.
• Experience operating vacuum excavation or hydrovac equipment preferred.
• OSHA 10, CPR/First Aid, and Fall Protection certifications are a plus.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including extended hours when project demands are required.
• Willingness to travel locally and overnight occasionally to project sites.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Operating vacuum excavation or hydrovac equipment to safely expose underground utilities.
• Assisting crews with water, sewer, and storm drain installation projects.
• Driving and positioning vacuum excavation trucks when required.
• Performing daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Preparing work areas by establishing proper safety controls and identifying hazards.
• Participating in daily safety briefings and toolbox meetings.
• Completing required company, regulatory, and project documentation accurately.
