Clearsite Industrial Services in Tampa, FL seeks a Hydrovac Operator to perform excavation and cleaning with hydrovac equipment, while upholding safety and efficiency standards. You will work with customers and team members, operate advanced machinery, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include non-destructive digging near utilities, routine maintenance, safety participation, and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B with tanker endorsement.
• DOT medical certificate current.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms.
• Must wear PPE and follow safety protocols.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to drive daily to local Tampa area sites.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydrovac systems for non-destructive excavation around utilities.
• Carry out cleaning, vacuuming, equipment mobilization and basic truck maintenance.
• Attend safety meetings and follow all safety rules.
• Complete required company, customer, and regulatory paperwork accurately.
• Coordinate with on-site representatives to position equipment safely.
• Lead and direct subordinate personnel as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Perform heavy lifting, work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Work flexible hours, including varying shifts and overtime; travel as required.

Our Tampa FL team operates a modern fleet of hydrovac trucks to deliver safe dig services for sensitive underground utilities, ensuring our customers receive trusted and professional support.
As a Hydrovac Operator, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality excavation and cleaning services while maintaining our commitment to safety and operational excellence. You will work closely with customers and team members, operating advanced equipment and ensuring all regulatory and company standards are met.

• Operate hydrovacuum systems to perform non-destructive excavation around underground utilities
• Carry out cleaning and vacuuming tasks, equipment mobilization, and routine truck maintenance
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all safety protocols
• Complete required company, customer, and regulatory documentation accurately
• Communicate with on-site customer representatives to determine safe equipment positioning
• Lead and direct subordinate personnel as needed
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform minor repairs
• Perform physical work including heavy lifting, working at heights, and confined space entry
• Work flexible construction hours, including variable shifts and extended hours
• Travel out of town or out of state as required

Required Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of CDL driving experience
• Class B CDL with tanker endorsement
• Current DOT medical certificate
• Ability to repeatedly lift 50+ lbs
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms
• Ability to wear required PPE while performing job duties
• English proficiency sufficient for safety communication and completing required documentation
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Comfortable driving daily to local job sites in the Richmond, VA area

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience operating hydrovac or vacuum excavation equipment
• Experience working around underground utilities
• OSHA 10 certification
