Job summary

CST Utilities is hiring a HydroVac Laborer to support daily operations of a HydroVac truck crew. You will assist with daylighting, trenching, and potholing while safely handling vacuum and water hose systems around utilities. The role requires physical effort, adherence to safety procedures, and teamwork.

The position involves outdoor work in varying weather, with overtime and occasional travel. A valid driver's license and ability to lift 50+ pounds are required; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license and must be insurable.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
• Ability to work overtime and travel as needed.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Experience in construction or utilities is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation of HydroVac trucks to perform daylighting (exposing underground utilities), trenching, and potholing.
• Safely handle vacuum and water hose systems during excavation.
• Work in various outdoor environments including mud, heat, cold, and confined spaces.
• Follow safety procedures, including wearing PPE and using proper traffic control methods.
• Support the operator in pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Set up job sites with cones, signs, and safety barriers as required.
• Load and unload materials and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and vehicle.
• Complete basic paperwork and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
