Job summary

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Little Rock District is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Hydropower) in the Hydropower Engineering Section, Little Rock, AR. The role focuses on on-site evaluations, expert advice during outages, and design coordination for hydroelectric facilities.

The engineer will perform detailed calculations and SCADA analysis, participate in contractor meetings, and supervise lower-grade staff during major inspections and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• US Citizens as per eligibility for Federal service.
• Basic requirement for Engineers plus specialized experience options.
• For GS-12, experience must be used; no education substitution allowed.

Responsibilities

• Conducts on-site investigations and feasibility studies for major maintenance and design projects.
• Provides expert technical advice during major breakdowns and develops repair methods.
• Performs engineering calculations, analysis, programming, and SCADA troubleshooting.
• Coordinates the design of electrical and mechanical equipment to meet design requirements.
• Works with divisions and project superintendents on major inspections and maintenance of hydroelectric units.
• Participates in conferences with contractors and directs the work of lower-grade employees.
